Community’s needs are growing!

Today La Jolla has about 14,000 residents over age 50. In the decade ahead, this will grow to more than 22,000-- an increase of 60%. The Friends of The Riford Center is committed to creating programs of interest to serve this growing community while updating and maintaining the Center to offer programs of significance.

Special Tribute to our Donors

All gifts are welcomed

While we encourage donations of any amount, we salute some pacesetting gifts that are making a current impact on the Riford Center.

A grant from Dick and Kaye Woltman to renovate the Great Room and kitchen ($150,000), which allows us to have special events with cuisine and cooking classes. It honors Mrs. Woltman’s mother, Dorothy Reasner, who served as Riford president from 1993-1994.
The painting of the hallways and doors, exterior painting, and other work ($30,000) by the Rotary Club of La Jolla.
A one-time Community Block Grant for creation of a new ADA-accessible entrance ($207,000) approved by the San Diego City Council and HUD.
The initial gift ($25,000) by the La Jolla Kiwanis Club to establish a new endowment fund to support activities.
